Pakistan is a South Asian country known for its rich culture, diverse landscapes, and passion for sports. It is home to a variety of traditional and modern sports, with cricket being the most popular. However, emerging sports like flying disc games, including Double Disc Court (DDC), are gaining recognition due to the efforts of organizations like the Pakistan Flying Disc Federation (PFDF) and the Pakistan Double Disc Court Association (PDDCA).

Rules of Double Disc Court (DDC)

Double Disc Court is a fast-paced flying disc game played between two teams of two players each. The objective is to score points by landing a disc in the opponent’s court or forcing the opponent to make an error.

Court Setup:

• The court consists of two squares, each 14 meters long and 5 meters wide, with a gap of 17 meters between them.
• Each team defends its square and aims to score in the opponent's square.

Gameplay Rules:

1. Starting Play:
   • The game starts with each team throwing a disc simultaneously (called the "throw-off").
2. Disc in Play:
   • Teams must throw discs alternately, and both discs remain in play simultaneously.
3. Valid Throw:
   • Discs must be thrown within the court boundaries. If a disc lands outside the opponent’s court or hits the ground in the gap between the courts, it is considered out of play.

Scoring Points

Points can be scored in the following ways:

• Landing the Disc:
  • If a disc lands inside the opponent's court and the opponent fails to catch it, the throwing team earns one point.
• Double Possession:
  • If the opponent touches both discs simultaneously, it results in a penalty, and the throwing team earns one point.
• Errors:
  • The opponent loses a point if they make an invalid throw, fail to catch a valid throw, or step outside the court while playing.

Fouls

• Double Possession: Holding or touching both discs at the same time is not allowed.
• Line Violations: Stepping outside the court while throwing or defending is a foul.
• Invalid Throw: A disc that lands outside the opponent’s court or crosses the sideline without entering the court is considered invalid.
• Delay of Game: A team must throw within a set time (usually 10 seconds); failure to do so results in a foul.

Winning the Game

The game is typically played to a certain number of points, often 15 or 21, depending on tournament rules. The team reaching the target score first is declared the winner.

Double Disc Court promotes teamwork, agility, and strategy, making it an exciting and dynamic sport for both players and spectators.
